Becoming a Little Leaders Daycare Provider

Becoming a Little Leaders Daycare Provider requires three essential elements: an appropriate home environment, enthusiasm for the required programs and procedures, and a love for children.

APPROPRIATE HOME ENVIRONMENT

In order to provide an appropriate home environment for a Little Leaders Home Daycare, the home and the people/pets in the home must meet all qualifications. On the persons living in the home (Over the age of 18), Criminal Reference Checks (CRC), medical clearance, Children's Aid Check (Halton only), and immunization records are required. The Daycare Provider herself is required to have specialised training in CPR and First Aid. Pets required up -to-date vaccinations. And the home itself requires a Fire Inspection (and evacuation plan), a Health and Safety inspection, and proper insurance coverage to operate a home daycare.

REQUIRED PROGRAMS?PROCEDURES

Since Little Leaders is a licensed agency, there are requirements regarding standard practices within the home. The standard programs include menus, activity plans, and routine diaper changes/sleep times. Other requirements include attendance reports, medication procedures and other similar reporting practices.

LOVE FOR CHILDREN

Of course, a home daycare could not possibly be successful without the patience and caring of someone who loves children.
